West Coast Gartersnake

(Thamnophis validus celaeno)

This is one of my favorite places in the world. Crystal clear, warm water and beautiful snakes in the mountains of southern Baja. When I look at this photo I can smell the water and feel the breeze coming through the canyon.

I am still amazed that I didn’t kill my camera on this photo. I had to to hold it above my head with one hand while wrangling the snake with the other.
